Fetchmail ist ein Programm, welches Mails via POP3 oder IMAP abholen und dann per SMTP oder LMTP weiterleiten kann.

# aptitude install fetchmail

/etc/fetchmailrc

set daemon 180
set syslog
set postmaster postmaster@meine-domain.de


poll pop.gmx.net proto pop3 uidl port 995:
   user any@gmx.net, with password 'xxxxxxxx', is user@meine-domain.de here ssl keep norewrite;

Als Daemon starten:

/etc/default/fetchmail

Neben der Installation auf dem Zielsystem müssen folgende Schritte unternommen:

1. Das Konfigurationsfile vom Quellsystem übernehmen (/etc/fetchmailrc)
2. Die Datenbank der bereits abgeholten Mails übernehmen (/var/lib/fetchmail/.fetchids)
3. Den Dienst neustarten
